New Beginnings.......
My name is Daniel Cline. I am 24 years old. I was born and raised in Asheville, NC by two wonderful parents. My older brother and I had an awesome life. My mom and dad did whatever they could to give us what we needed and wanted.
I did well in school and never really struggled. I loved sports and played as many as I could. I played football, basketball, baseball, soccer and wrestled. My favorite was football. However, I started putting sports before school and that's when my grades suffered.
During high school I began to experiment with drugs and alcohol. Little did I know I was planting a seed of destruction which would take root and try to destroy my life and my future.
After I graduated high school, I moved to Wilmington, NC, to start a new chapter in my life. I went to Cape Fear Community College and also worked. Everything was going great, but living on my own at 18 had its temptations. The seed I had planted in high school was growing in a plant. I began smoking weed daily and drinking whenever I couldn't smoke. I lived like that for two years.
One day at a carwash I met a beautiful woman named Jordan. Long story short, she is now my wife and the mother of my two beautiful daughters.
After my first daughter was born, my wife told me she wanted me to stop smoking weed, so I did. I still wanted to alter my mind, so I turned to a legal drug, alcohol. I began to drink off and on during the weekends or at parties, never thinking about it. This continued for a couple of months. Soon it wasn't just here and there, but it turned into every weekend. The first stop I would make before I got home from work would be the ABC store.
My wife started to notice a pattern in the way I was drinking. It threw up some red flags. My drinking continued and was getting worse. I was now drinking every night after work. Jordan told me I needed to watch how much I was drinking or it could turn into a serious problem in the future. I told her not to worry about a thing, I could stop whenever I wanted to.
My drinking was like a snowball at the top of a hill, it started out small but when it started rolling it began to grow and get bigger, gaining speed so fast it was now out of control and going to destroy anything in its path.
Before I came into Teen Challenge I was at the worst point in my life. I was drinking hard liquor every morning before work. I would continue drinking though out the day, then come home and continue drinking until I would pass out. My wife demanded I stop, but I was too far gone. I couldn't stop.
Jordan came to me and gave me the number for Teen Challenge and told me to call them. I made the call and admitted I needed help.
I was accepted into the program at Greater Piedmont Teen Challenge. I came to Teen Challenge thinking I was coming to get off drugs. But I soon realized I came to start a relationship with Jesus, and that's exactly what I did.
I stand before you today a new man in Christ Jesus, a man on fire for God and devoted to being the spiritual leader of my family. I thank Teen Challenge for what they have done for me, but I know all the glory goes to God and the works of His hand. Teen Challenge is a vessel God works through to bring troubled men to Christ.
I thank God and Teen Challenge for what they have done for me and my family. My life is restored, my marriage is restored and my salvation is restored. Thank you my heavenly Father.
Daniel is pursuing a career in law enforcement. We are so proud of this young family. We were privileged to be part of their restoration. Daniel and Jordan participated in our Marriage and Restoration Program. God has been faithful and we rejoice together for His mighty deliverance in Daniel's life.
A Message from Dr. Bob........
Miracles happen every day. We see them at home, at work and when we least expect them. We have prayed for many different kinds of miracles in our lives, but the greatest miracle of all is the salvation of a soul.
At Teen Challenge we rescue souls. Some come to us with no idea or comprehension of who Christ is. Others come to us and have been raised in a loving Christian home and attended church throughout their earlier years. Some come to Teen Challenge and have an idea of who God is, but they have never experienced Him personally. Whichever category a man falls into when they enter the program, they are given the same opportunity. The opportunity to meet Jesus, ask Him into their heart and then be taught how to serve and love God for the rest of their life.
We have had several of our men graduate recently. It is always with great anticipation we have our graduation ceremonies. I am thrilled to present them with their graduation certificate, share my personal thoughts about them individually and give them a book out of my personal library or one purchased especially for them. The presence of the Lord is felt so real at the graduations. Each young man who completes the program is a miracle
Yes, God still performs miracles....I see one every graduation day.
Re-entry Program Launches
Our goal is to open our new Re-entry Program the first part of September. We want to provide a residential Re-entry Program located on our existing campus. This program will foster an environment of continued spiritual growth and self-sufficiency for program graduates from our primary program.
Norm Oliveau will move from Dorm 1 Supervisor to Re-entry Supervisor. Graduates who require more support in their journey toward successful living now have the option of applying to our Re-entry Program. This program will be located in our second residential dormitory and will be self-sufficient within the framework of Greater Piedmont Teen Challenge.
The Re-entry Program provides a safe, long-term transition for our graduates, who need a helping hand and not a hand-out. This also goes hand in hand with our Aftercare Program. We expect to close the relapse gap through this highly structured program.
Please keep this new venture in your prayers. Many of the students now in the program are excited about the possibility of entering the Re-entry Program. We are trusting God for much needed grant funds to do some renovating of the dormitory facility and hope to continue improving on the structure as we also continue to improve on the success of our graduates.
We are stepping out in faith for this program. Faith in God, faith in each other and faith in our donors. Together we will see great things done for the Kingdom of God.

THANK YOU
Two words that never grow old are "thank you". We say them sometimes out of habit and don't put much thought behind them and other times we say them with excitement when we receive a special gift or message. However, they are two words we never want to forget to say to our faithful partners.
One of our volunteers, Jack Robinson, comes in on a regular basis to make phone calls and let you know how much we appreciate your faithfulness. You may have already gotten a call from Jack. Many of you have expressed your appreciation for his call. He loves to visit with you, pray with you and share how much we appreciate you. If you have not already been contacted, you may be soon.
So if you haven't heard it lately, let us take a moment and say "Thank You!"
